Molly Brandt Album Release Show with Pit Stop and Becky Kapell at Turf Club

Molly Brandt is a singer-songwriter and country artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Molly Brandt’s music continues the tradition of Americana music through classic-sounding, twangy, and nostalgic earworms alongside her more indie and alternative country tracks that allow for self-questioning and introspection. Molly Brandt’s band brings sounds of alt country and classic rock of 1970s while presenting modern driving country rock hits, as well as tracks that present an enveloping and emotional wall-of-sound harmony vocals with the vibes of southern rock. Timeless, simple, yet impactful storytelling and lyrics alike, Molly Brandt hones-in on a distinctly modern sound that draws influences from many eras and styles while being distinctly her own.

Pit Stop, a band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, plays original tunes combining elements of Americana, Blues, Country, Folk, Rock, and a dash of Doo-wop. Experienced musicians and longtime contributors to the Twin Cities music scene, Pit Stop is Jake Balistrieri (vocals, guitar), James Patrick Horigan (guitar), Sarah Mevissen (vocals, guitar), Zack Warpinski (bass), and Gage Webster (drums). Inspired by the sound and songwriting of Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris, Townes Van Zandt, Connie Francis, Canned Heat, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and The Velvet Underground, Pit Stop has a familiar yet singular sound. With captivating harmonies, lyrics balancing humor and heartache, a locked ‘n’ loaded rhythm section, and guitar solos that rip, Pit Stop guarantees a dynamic and entertaining live performance.

Late-blooming Minnesota singer-songwriter Becky Kapell writes gritty, no-nonsense songs that come from the crossroads of old-time rock and roll and country, delivered with a wistful croon and a wry smile. Always walking the line between mischief and heartache, her music doesn’t shy away from life’s truths and her own shortcomings, and with over 50 years of life’s ups and downs, she has plenty of material to draw from. Working with her all-star band The Fat 6, Kapell has quickly become a fixture in the Twin Cities music scene, sharing the stage with some of Americana’s biggest acts like Southern Culture on the Skids, Rosie Flores, and Wayne Hancock. Having just released her critically acclaimed third album In It To Win It in 2022, Becky Kapell is poised to become Minnesota’s next big Americana export. Recorded during the pandemic with partner and bandmate Paul Bergen, it mixes the raw grooves of Lucinda Williams, the haunting sounds of Emmylou and the classic rock and roll feel of Nick Lowe.
