Ray Bonneville w/ Corey Medina & Brothers at Cedar Cultural Center
Acclaimed raconteur Ray Bonneville strips his bluesy Americana down to its essentials and steeps it in the humid grooves of the South, creating a compelling poetry of hard living and deep feeling. His ninth release, At King Electric, delivers more than his trademark grit and groove. Songs such as “The Next Card to Fall” and “Codeine” gleam with intimate narratives of characters reaching for hope and wrestling with despair. Rich guitar and harmonica lines resonate over spare but spunky rhythms, while Bonneville’s deep, evocative voice confesses life’s harsh realities.
Corey Medina is a Native American Blues Artist from Shiprock, NM. Shiprock is on the Navajo Tribal Nation where Corey was born and raised. He moved to Northern Minnesota in 2012 and collaborated with Incepticons Entertainment. Currently the Brothers band consists of Eric Sundeen of Bemidji, MN on Drums and Gary Broste also from Bemidji, on upright bass. After 3 years of talking about a full length studio album, in 2019 Corey and The Brothers released their debut full length album, "Better Days". They set out to spread light to dark, and hope to the hopeless with their raw, soulful, intimate music and stage presence.
