Mother Banjo + Two Rivers at Icehouse
Featuring Ellen Stanley on banjo and vocals, Mother Banjo is a New England-raised, Minneapolis-based songwriter. Called “an outstanding poet” (Inside Bluegrass), she was a Midwest Finalist for the prestigious NewSong Contest and has been featured nationally on SiriusXM Radio, CMT.com and Americana UK. She and her award-winning band just released a special 10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition of their best-selling album The Devil Hasn't Won, featuring their unique brand of soulful Americana. As a host of the Back Catalog Listening Party podcast and the (now syndicated) Womenfolk Radio Show for the last 21 years, she has been a regular host on KFAI and a frequent guest on The Current, MPR News, Jazz88 and Twin Cities Public Television. A tireless champion of other artists' music, she's so excited to be sharing the stage with Two Rivers--one of her favorite new folk duos.
Two Rivers
When Keri Noble and Bonnie Jasicki met, they immediately bonded over their mutual love of lush harmonies, storytelling, and singer-songwriters. A friendship developed and new, original music soon followed. Blending Keri’s pop instincts and ability to break your heart with Bonnie’s breathtaking lyrics and haunting melodies harkening back to your favorite 70’s singer-songwriters, they formed the duo, Two Rivers.
