Safar: w/ Dan Rein & members of Corn Sweat at 331 Club
From Mikkel: “Queen Mab is a figure in Western Literature who pops up now and then over the centuries. First referenced by Shakespeare, Queen Mab has more recently appeared as a folk club in NYC in the early 60’s, in an essay by Peter Linebaugh on the Luddites, a video game, a Duran Duran video and now as my new Music series.
Queen Mab is the queen of the faeries who drives a chariot up your nose while you sleep in order to give you good dreams. And America, you could use some good dreams.
So…Queen Mab presents the following 6 Sunday afternoon events starting October 16 & running through January 15 2023 at the 331 Club.”
Mikkel Beckmen (washboard, wooden tray, and stomp box) has been a fixture on the Twin Cities scene for a number of years; some of the folks he's played with include the Brass Kings, Charlie Parr, and Lonesome Dan Kase & the Crush Collision Trio.
Corn Sweat is the code name for Mikkel and a certain legendary Minnesota country blues artist, and the worst-kept secret in the Twin Cities music community.
