Sam Weber w/ Hemma at Icehouse

Canadian-born artist Sam Weber spans an eclectic range of roots, americana, improvisational music and jazz influences. He has released three LPs of his own material, collaborated with Grammy winners, and contributed guitar to the 2021 Juno-winning Bahamas album, Sad Hunk. Supporting his latest release Get Free, Sam is going forth with the same intention and mantra as when he began: “Music is an emotional conduit between people and allows us the opportunity to share moments of truth and unity. In an age where the ritual of music-making can be a solitary exercise, I want to live my life to remind everyone that playing music as a communal and spontaneous practice can be healing and powerful.”

Hemma is the songwriting moniker for multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist Hannah Hebl. The latest batch of songs in this alt-country balladeer's set have drawn influence from her time singing with Wendy Lewis, Rachel Ries, and many others in the vibrant scene that spans between Eau Claire and the Twin Cities. She is in the process of creating a full-length record with help from producer Sean Carey and mixing engineer Brian Joseph that will feature collaborations from Hilary James (bathtub cig), Courtney Hartman, Erik Koskinen, Jeremy Boettcher and Ben Lester. With a voice that’s been described as singular and stunning, Hemma has shared bills with The Cactus Blossoms, S. Carey, The Riffin' Trio, and Humbird.
