Charlie Parr’s new album, Last of The Better Days Ahead, is a collection of powerful songs about how one looks back on a life lived, as well as forward on what’s still to come. Its spare production foregrounds Parr’s poetic lyricism, his expressive, gritty voice ringing clear over deft acoustic guitar playing that references folk and blues motifs in Parr’s own exploratory, idiosyncratic style.

Mike Gangloff is a Virginia-based fiddler and multi-instrumentalist who journeys back and forth between traditional and avant-garde music, seeking unity — and beauty — in archaic tunes and long drones.

Says Adam Kiesling: “I mostly play guitar and banjo, and will occasionally join in on an upright bass. I really like old-time string band music and country blues that were recorded in the 1920s and '30s. I try and take the old songs and put my own stamp on them.”
