When she isn't singing she is out taking photos. Some of her biggest influence are Heartless bastards, Etta James, Shakey Graves, Alanis Morissette, The Eagles and more.
Wild Lyre~“It would be like if Kurt Vile and Mac DeMarco had a kid together, but then that kid met Tom Petty and had a kid w Petty, but like Heartbreakers Petty, and that kid was actually Bob Seger, and then Seger had multiple kids w JJ Cale, and then all of Seger’s and JJ’s kids took acid together and locked each other in a studio to write songs and rehearse every Sunday night for two years in someone’s backyard drinking bubbly waters and rum and sometimes Miller Lite, but there was never any food so they’re all pretty hungry. It kinda sounds like that.” - C Holley
Ponyfolk was formed in 2014 by Clifton Nesseth (vocals, strings, guitar, keys, synthesizers) and Paul Sauey (vocals, strings, guitar, bass). Based out of Duluth and Minneapolis, MN, the pair’s multi-instrumentalist abilities and vocal harmonies have carved them out a reputation of creating maximalist soundscapes that are defined by droning layers of guitars, strings, and a synth bass. They are often joined by Aaron Hays (drums) and Alex Nelson (keys).
Pony’s music has been described as “the dark side of Simon & Garfunkel” and “early Pink Floyd mixed with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.”
